Mother's Day cards
To make Mother's day cards you will need.
White card
Green paper
Patterned card
Mothers Day stamp
Ink pad
Butterfly punch
Craft knife
Cutting mat
Glue stick
Foam pads
Pro markers
1. Cut a rectangle from the green paper.
2. Cut a slightly smaller rectangle from the patterned card .
3 Glue both together then on to the white card.
4. Stamp the Mother's Day title onto the patterned paper and then cut around the edge of the design.
5. Use pro markers to add colour to the handbag on the stamp.
6. Cut another rectangle of green paper to back the logo, slightly larger than the logo itself and glue together.
7. Cut a decorative image from a sheet of pattern paper in this case cup cakes.
8. Use foam pads to raise the image and the title from the page.
9. Finally use the butterfly punch on the green paper then glue the butterflies to the bottom corners of the patterned paper.

Victoria sandwich cake
Recipe
100g margarine
100g caster sugar
2 eggs
100g Self raising flour
1. Heat the oven to 180C.
2. Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in eggs one at a time adding a little flour with each.
4. Fold in remaining flour.
4. Place mixture into a silicone round cake tin and bake for 20 mins.
5. when cool fill with jam and dust with icing sugar.
Note: I make the mixture twice once for the bottom of the cake and then the top, this way I find you get a better quality to your finished cake.

Ginger biscuits recipe
300g self raising flour
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp ground ginger
100g caster sugar
50g margarine
3 tbsp golden syrup
4 tbsp milk
1. Heat oven to 160 C.
2. Mix flour, salt and ginger in a bowl.
3. Warm sugar, margarine, and syrup in a pan then add to dry ingredients and mix well.
4. Add milk and mix to a firm consistency. Then knead.
5. Roll out and cut shapes with a cutter.
6. Place on a silicone baking sheet and cook for 10-15 mins.
Note: I like my ginger biscuits to taste strong, if you require a milder taste add less ginger to the mix.

Homemade cereal bars
I wanted to make cereal bars, so I searched the Internet to no avail. I found all sorts of recipes, but nothing I liked. I didn't want nuts in them, which seemed to be a main ingredient. So I set about creating my own recipe. I had no idea how they would turn out, but luckily they taste nice.
Apple, sultana and cinnamon cereal bars - recipe
100g margarine
3 tsp golden syrup
75g brown sugar
50g oats
50g self raising flour
50g crushed Special K
1 tsp cinnamon
25g dried apple
25g sultanas
1. Stir oats, flour, apple, cinnamon and crushed Special K in a bowl and mix.
2. Melt margarine, syrup and sugar in a pan.
3. Then added to dry ingredients and mix together.
4. Place in a silicone square silicone baking tin and cook for 10-15 mins on 190 C.

New cookie cutter
I tried out my new cookie cutter today with the baking of ginger biscuits. Love making these on a cold winter day as they make the house smell lovely.

The beginning of scrap booking
The new year has seen me decide to experiment with a new craft, Scrapbooking. If all goes well I am going to attempt to scrapbook old family photos.
